MANILA, Philippines — Vice President Sara Duterte on Thursday enjoined Filipinos to show humility, kindness, and mercy to everyone in need, even to persecutors, as the nation marks the Feast of Jesus Nazareno.
In a statement, Duterte said the religious event is celebrated with solemn reverence and gratitude for God’s enduring love.
Article continues after this advertisementShe particularly emphasized that Filipinos’ devotion to Jesus Nazareno is a testament to their profound trust in God’s miracles, which, according to her, have become “the spring that gives us the strength, courage, and the inspiration to be resilient as we hold fast to our faith and overcome the challenges coming our way.”
